Looks like we survived another Holiday season. Hope everyone had a relaxing and joyful Holiday! Huzzah!
1/9/2026- Countertop gourmet mushroom grow kits are back in stock after the holidays!
- I am currently gearing up and inoculating the first stages of outdoor spawn for Spring. Garden Giants (Winecaps) and Wood Blewit outdoor spawn kits should be available in early March 2026.
- Spring is a great time to inoculate logs, start thinking now about sourcing fresh logs for your inoculation projects. As a reminder, we have small 100 packs of plugs, and for larger projects we have 500 & 1,000 count plug packs that are made to order.
- Chicken of the Woods plugs (Laetiporus conifericola) that are native to the Pacific Northwest are available. This species prefers conifer; Hemlock and Douglas Fir. As far as I can tell, I am the only person on planet Earth offering this species as plugs. Available in 100ct, 500ct and 1000ct plugs.
- We have a wide variety of oyster species available as plugs, including a variety that I found growing here at the Fungus Farm that we refer to as either Wapato Wild Oyster or just Local Wild Oyster. This native variety is interesting as it fruits in a wide range of temperatures, mainly in the cold Autumn and Winter months. Originally found growing in Cottonwood trees near the Columbia River. Local Wild Oyster prefers hardwood tree species.
- Our gourmet mushroom grow kits can be found at Oregon Indoor Organics in Rainier Oregon as well as at Linnton Feed & Seed in NW Portland. Kits and plugs can also be purchased through the website and shipped, there is also a local pickup option available if you wish to bypass shipping. As usual, please reach out with any questions!
